Multimedia Journey with Beatles Expert Scott Freiman
The Beatles’ album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band is one of the high points of the Beatles’ career, as well as one of the most influential songs in all of popular music. Composer, producer and Beatles expert Scott Freiman takes music fans young and old on a magical tour through this masterpiece in “Deconstructing Sgt. Pepper,” an in-depth look at the Beatles’ creative process. This two hour presentation consisting of part film, music and lecture will be held at the Springfield Jewish Community Center, 1160 Dickinson Street, Springfield MA 01108 on Thursday, September 18 at 7:30 p.m.
Using rare audio and video clips, as well as anecdotes about the creation of the songs, “Deconstructing Sgt. Pepper” explores the album Rolling Stone Magazine called “the most important rock & roll album ever made” and introduces groundbreaking production techniques that went into producing this landmark piece of music history. A newfound appreciation for this iconic group is guaranteed!
Scott Freiman combines his knowledge of the Beatles with a career as a composer, producer and educator. His original music has been featured in award-winning films performed at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. He's taught a semester course on the music of the Beatles at Yale University. Scott is the owner of Second Act Studio, a state-of-the-art music and video studio for composition, recording and production.
