Information About the 2008/2009 Season
Coach Stu welcomes all interested boys and girls ages 7 through 17 regardless of ability. Swimmers need only be able to swim one length of the pool safely to be eligible. The Cudas practice four days a week; each swimmer must practice at least three out of the four days.
There is a one-week trial period without obligation to see if the program is for your child.
The registration fee for this year’s swim team program is $300/JCC members plus a $50 mandatory suit fee and $550/non-JCC members plus a $50 mandatory suit fee. Registration is due by Thursday, October 30. A fee of $25 will be applied to payment received after that date. Swimmers cometing with a high school team may pay 1/2 price.
About Our Web Site... These pages exist to recruit new swimmers, keep parents informed and to encourage their active participation. We hope to maintain a channel of communication between parents and the Cudas’ Parent’s Board, a group of volunteers who will coordinate the home meets and make sure there is a parent volunteer for each job at the meet.
Please get in touch with one of the Volunteer Contacts on the Parent’s Board to find out how you can help the Cudas at home meets.
Remember, the Cudas’ swim meets are made possible by parent volunteers. Please pitch in!
In addition to its participation in the JCC league, the Cudas are also members of the Central Connecticut Winter Swim League. The CCWSL is a twelve-team league made up of the best teams in the Greater Hartford area. This gives our Cudas the best mix of competition from the 8 New England JCC’s and 12 area town teams.
In the News
The Cudas took second place in the 2007-2008 JCC Championship Swim Meet.
Their success is due to coach Stuart Greene, Cudas swimmers, and parents, who work together to create a successful, family style swim team where everybody is encouraged to strive for excellence.
"Our swimmers are well-coached, well-trained, and love being challenged," adds Coach Stuart Greene, Health and P.E. Director at the JCC.
Each of the 97 Cudas swimmers is a key component to the team’s success. That is because Coach Stu teaches these children to strive for excellence in a rewarding way.
"It’s not just about the fastest swimmers," says Coach Stu. "We wouldn’t win without the help of all swimmers."
Coach Stu believes that the Cudas Swim team is the right place for ANY child to be because EVERYBODY has worth and EVERYBODY makes a difference.
In addition to the dedicated swimmers, the Cudas Parent Board holds the team together and ensures league requirements are met. Through their extraordinary volunteer work, this group is dedicated to giving JCC Cudas swimmers the best possible swim team experience.
