Become a Ropes Course Instructor
Our instructor trainings are taught by course manager Raychel Setless who is an ACCT (Association for Challenge Course Technology) level 2 certified instructor through High 5 Adventure.
Training plans follow ACCT guidelines and prepare instructors to start as an assistant facilitator on the SJCC Challenge Course. Staff can move up to facilitator and lead instructor based on hours, experience, and additional skills. Our full instructor training course will cover low ropes, high ropes, and rockwall training. All aspects of low ropes elements are covered including set-up, element framing, group facilitation, program design, sequencing, program philosophy, and debrief techniques. Training will also include facilitation of our high elements, rockwall, and specialty elements such as flying squirrel, pamper platform, and zipline. Participants will learn essential knots, dynamic belay, Australian belay, element specific operating procedures, and be prepared to facilitate groups on the JCC ropes course!
