DJST Jr for 6th and 7th graders

DJST Jr will have mentors from DJST helping them with a community service project once a month and a recreational event once a month. This youth group is open to all interested 6th and 7th graders. The first event is Sunday, October 28th - the Rays of Hope Walk. If you have a youth in 6th or 7th grade, please contact Amy to find out how to get them registered for this full year program. $100 yearly fee, $75 discounted member fee.

Don’t Just Sit There

Don’t Just Sit There is a community service social action group for 8th grade - high school students. We meet once a month to look at the important issues facing our community and the world. DJST’s Adopt a Family project was successful last  year as they were able to help 14 specific families through difficult times.  DJST volunteers for soup kitchens at least once a month.  DJST purchased food and raised awareness for Rachel’s Table helping with their shopping tournament.  DJST had over 90 members last year from a variety of middle and high schools.  Don’t miss out - get involved.  You do not have to participate in every event.  Some events need a few volunteers while others, such as, the Walks for causes, Adopt a Family Project and the Annual JCC Carnival need lots of volunteers. Join this year and help DJST participate in a variety of community service projects. We would like to start a mentoring program this year by starting a DJST JR group.  DJST members donate $25 as a donation to help fund the charitable projects throughout the year. Come help DJST with its annual Adopt a Family project. Contact Amy Kimball, the teen director, for more information and help us help others!
