JCC Health & Fitness Center Offers Aquatics Programs for All Ages –
The Springfield JCC Health & Fitness Center houses a 6-lane, 25-meter pool with an outdoor view and services people of all ages. Parents can sign up children of all ages, including infants, for private or group swim lessons. Children ages seven to 17 who can swim the length of the pool without assistance qualify to join the Cudas Swim Team.
“My four-year-old daughter was terrified of going under water,” says Amy Baxter. “After only three private swim lessons this summer, she was swimming in deep water, with her face submerged! I am so grateful to the fabulous swim staff at the JCC! “

Adult Aquatics Offerings
Adults have a place at the JCC pool as well. “Adults who have fear of water can take private lessons with our staff, who can help alleviate their fear,” says Cassy Currie, JCC Aquatics Director. “We also offer private lessons for adults seeking to brush up on their strokes, whether for recreation or training for a triathlon.”
Group water aerobic classes are well-attended at the JCC. Water aerobics are beneficial to adults in many ways. From relieving stress to strengthening muscles, or using it as a form of rehabilitation, this low-impact exercise can benefit any age.
The JCC Health & Fitness Center is housed in the Springfield Jewish Community Center. Conveniently located on the corner of Converse and Dickinson Streets in the Forest Park section of Springfield, everyone is welcome to participate in the aquatics programs, as well as the many other programs offered.
