"The King's Speech" at Hartford Stage

With international war looming, England’s King George V dies, leaving the Crown and the crisis to his youngest son Bertie. Shy, fragile, and afflicted with a profound stammer, Bertie is ill-equipped to inspire and lead a people who are now instantaneously informed by a new invention: the wireless radio. He seeks help from Harley Street doctor Lionel Logue and finds an unexpected friendship. But can Logue actually cure the King? Their success or failure as therapist and patient will seal their destiny, the destiny of England, and, perhaps, the world. The film that followed the play won four Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Original Screenplay for original playwright David Seidler.

"TINA: The Tina Turner Musical" on Broadway

Tina Turner didn’t just break the rules – she rewrote them. From humble beginnings in Nutbush, Tennessee to her transformation into the global Queen of Rock and Roll, this new hit stage musical, presented in association with Tina Turner herself, reveals the untold story of a woman who dared to defy the bounds of her age, gender, and race. Tony nominee Adrienne Warren will star as Tina, the role she originated in London and for which she won the 2019 Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical. The show also won the award for Best New Musical. Bus will depart from the JCC at 8:45 am for a 3:00 pm matinee and will depart from NYC at 6:45 pm. Includes transportation, driver gratuity, and a rear center Orchestra seat.

New York Botanical Garden - Kusama: Cosmic Nature

Experience this multisensory presentation of the work of the internationally celebrated Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. Exclusive to NYBG, this exhibition is designed to capture and illuminate the artist’s profound engagement with nature throughout the changing seasons from spring into fall. Kusama’s lifelong fascination with the natural world will be revealed in depth with multiple installations, including her signature mirrored environments and organic forms, polka-dotted sculptures of colossal flora, mesmerizing nature-based paintings, biomorphic collages, words on paper, botanical sketches, as well as spectacular horticultural showcase in the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory. Bus will depart from the Springfield Museums at 7:00 am/Springfield JCC at 7:30 am and will depart New York at 4:00 pm. Bring your own lunch or get lunch on your own at the cafe or one of the food trucks. Includes transportation, driver gratuity, and the Kusama Plus admission which consists of an 11:30 am guided walking tour and entry to the conservatory, the works within the Mertz Library Building, and the outdoor exhibition.

"South Pacific" at Goodspeed Opera House

On a lush tropical island during WWII, battles of the heart are center stage in this Rodgers and Hammerstein classic. Lovestruck nurse Nellie Forbush falls for a French planter, while Lieutenant Joe Cable finds himself drawn to a local.
