South Dakota

September 30 – October 5, 2021 (6 days, 5 nights)

Has Mt. Rushmore been on your travel bucket list? Consider joining the Springfield JCC on an adventure to South Dakota, a land of great diversity and infinite beauty. This is where golden fields of grain give way to rugged cattle ranches, where the roll of the plain ends at the base of a mountain range. The Black Hills, with its dense pine forests and soaring granite peaks, is home to the Shrine of Democracy, better known as Mount Rushmore National Memorial, America’s favorite and the world’s largest sculpture. A strange and marvelous landscape unfolds at Badlands National Park where the jagged spires that protrude from the earth have been likened to the remnants of a fallen city. South Dakota’s unique history, fascinating cultures and unrivaled beauty will be a welcome change after the past year we’ve all experienced!
