Jewish Genealogy: Finding Your Roots

February 9 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Want to learn more about who your ancestors were and where they came from? With so much data now available online and the popularity of television shows like Finding Your Roots, genealogy is more enticing and more accessible than ever. Choose one of these genealogy programs and learn how to find the treasures hidden in your family tree. These presentations will include some content unique to Jewish genealogy.

Option I – Getting Started: There’s so much information out there and so many relatives, both living and deceased. Where do you begin? Learn enough about the basics to make a plan and start your research.

Option II – Climbing Higher: Do you have a little experience, have you begun to gather information, and are you ready to take it to the next level? This presentation will discuss resources for moving forward and digging deeper.

Presenters: Nina Sitron (Getting Started) & Joel Novis and Howard Smith (Climbing Higher). All are experts form the Western Massachusetts Jewish Genealogical Society with decades of genealogical research among them.

This event is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is strongly recommended.

Co-sponsored by the Western Massachusetts Jewish Genealogical Society and Bay Path University’s Kaleidoscope Series, Perspectives on Culture, Life and Learning
