World War I signaled the end of the European social structure, and was arguably one of the worst blunders in human history. Learn about the wide array of warfare used during the conflict, as well as what led to it. The horrific loss of life during the war led directly to the punitive Treaty of Versailles, whose terms, some say, virtually guaranteed World War II.
