Modified Pickleball Information November 2, 2020
Pickleball at the J is back and better than before! We have 1 court inside available for play ALL DAY…Sundays thru Fridays! There will be 6 slots for the 75 minutes, 4 players on the court, 2 in chairs on the sidelines 6 feet apart per playing time slot and all players can rotate through. Bring your own equipment, there will be NO shared equipment. The 15 minutes between playing slots will be used for cleaning and disinfecting.
Log on to www.signupgenius.com, use your email for a username and create a unique password (include a lower case, upper case, symbol and a number) and sign yourself up! **please be courteous and restrict your playing time to 1 time slot per day**
If you are a J member, you play for FREE….If you are not a J member, consider joining or pay $60 per month for unlimited play ($5 drop in day fee is no longer an available option). Pickleball at the J!
Pickleball is FREE to J members and $5 for the general public. We offer instructional classes, private instruction, and open gym time in the fall, winter and spring for Pickleball. In the summer time, we offer pickleball outside on our tennis courts. With 3 courts in our gymnasium for Pickleball, we can accommodate many players of all skill levels. Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports across the United States. It’s a combination of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. The sport is played with a paddle and wiffleball. You can play either indoors or outdoors!
Fridays 8:00 – 9:00am
It’s great for players of all levels. You will learn:
Rules of the Sport, Game Play and Strategy, Game Etiquette, Drills for Skill Improvement, Paddle Grip and Stroke Instruction
Instructors will be on hand to help facilitate and give instruction/tips to all players. Never played? Just after one day of play, you will get the hang of things. Instructional Clinics are intended for those of beginner and recreational level.

We offer private and semi-private instruction for Pickleball. During this time instructors will focus on improving many aspects of your game based on your current and desired skills.
Meet Our Instructor
Ted Pritchett is a former Director of Physical Education at the Springfield JCC from 1966-68 and a Springfield College alum. Through his supervision and development in two Pickleball programs in Colorado, Ted brought one of the programs not only to the top of Colorado but also to the entire region. The program had even produced medalists at the national level. Ted has conducted hundreds of private lessons in Pickleball, giving him the ability to adapt a program to fit all skill levels.
