Kehillah | Get Active
Kehillah provides quality recreational, social, and enrichment programming for children, teens, and adults with different abilities.
Participants can ‘get active’ in the pool, in the gym, and outdoors:
Sensory-Friendly Swim Hour | Tuesdays 5:30 - 6:30 PM
Enjoy the water at your pace during an hour of pool time set aside each week to create a supportive, low-sensory swim environment.
Swimmers with Autism, other sensory processing and/or physical challenges can enjoy floating, lap swim, and relaxation with access to sensory-friendly pool gear.
This program is for all ages. Swimmers under 18 will need a parent/guardian in the pool alongside them at all times.
Normal facility rates apply: Members: FREE. General Public: $10 drop-in fee.
Aqua Zumba® | Thursdays 11:00 - 11:30 AM
Jump into an easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, dance-fitness party that makes working out a splash! All ages and all abilities welcome!
With Kelly from Totally Adaptive.

Project R.I.D.E. (recreation, independence, development, and equipment) loans modified tricycles to cyclists with different abilities. This enables them to participate in bike riding with their friends and family, helping them stay active and connected.
In the spring of 2023, Courtney requested a trike for her son, Theo (📸 below), who has CHARGE Syndrome. She was concerned that he was not exercising or getting fresh air, instead spending too much sedentary time on "mind-numbing" video games, and becoming agitated, even depressed. Now, she told us: “I love to watch Theo zip around the neighborhood on his new wheels. He loves his bike which makes him noticeably lighter and happier. So, I am lighter and happier too!".

Special Olympics Massachusetts
We are excited to be working with Special Olympics MA to bring two fun-filled, indoor sports programs to the JCC:
- Floorball - an exciting, fast-paced, team sport for athletes ages 12+ of all levels
- Young Athletes - a sport and play program for children with and without intellectual disabilities, ages 2-7 and 6-12.
Both programs have proved so popular that they are currently full, but we hope to expand our partnership with Special Olympics MA with more programming in the future.
