Meet Evan Pycko, who started his position this week as the Springfield JCC’s new Wellness and Recreation Director.

Originally from Chicopee, Evan is happy to have landed back in Western Massachusetts, having spent the last several years traveling around the country. He has held various positions in the hospitality and sports management industries, where he learned the importance of listening and being genuine.

“I think offering a good member experience comes down to providing a personalized experience. We need to be helpful and friendly and listen to what people want." Evan says his priority is to meet as many people as he can, both members and staffers, and listen to what’s important to them.

Evan enjoys seeking out partnerships, both internally and externally. “I will be looking for ways to support other departments, to partner with other organizations, and to work collaboratively to benefit the JCC and our community.”

Evan’s experience with league management will serve the JCC well, as he says one of his first priorities will be to learn about the sports and recreation programs that have been successful in the past, and build on those for the benefit of members and program participants.
