Level 2: Advanced beginner level for children who have taken parent/child classes, or other forms of swim lessons. Children are working on basic swimming skills, safety, self-confidence in and around the water. Children swim independently with a bubble and a noodle (children are not clinging to the instructor.)

Level 1: Beginner level for children who have never taken lessons and are afraid of the water. Children work on water acclimation, safety, self-confidence, and basic swimming skills for front crawl and back stroke with a strong focus on kicking. Child swims with or without flotation.

Level 2: Advanced beginner level for children who have completed preschool lessons or other forms of swim lessons. Children must be able to swim 10 yards without stopping on their front or their back.  Children must have an understanding of putting their face in the water and are working to strengthen skill. Children will begin to learn rotary breathing at this level.  They will also focus on backstroke, safety, and endurance.

Level 3: Intermediate level.  Children swim the full length of the pool on their front or back with a break in between.  Children must have a basic understanding of rotary breathing and are working to perfect it. Children work on front crawl, backstroke, basic breaststroke, safety, and endurance.

Level 4: High Intermediate level.  Children must be able to complete 2 lengths (50 yards) of front crawl (with proper rotary breathing) and backstroke. Children work on front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke, some basic butterfly skills, and endurance.

Stroke Development: This NEW class is replacing our levels 5 and 6 swim lessons. It is specifically designed to strengthen all four strokes of swimming.  The focus will be to prepare swimmers to join our spring/winter swim team.  Swimming competitively involves endurance, psychological readiness and the ability to maintain strong motivation toward competing.  Swimming is a lifelong skill and a sport with the correct foundation and fundamentals; it can be a sport for life.
