Welcome to our Early Learning Center! The ELC occupies the beautifully-updated Plotkin-Grinspoon building in one wing of the JCC’s campus. Here, our ELC children enjoy thoughtfully-designed classrooms, a light and airy indoor playscape, Sensiplay and Game rooms, a gymnasium, and an indoor pool! Outside, they can explore our playgrounds, gardens, and the athletic fields and woodlands on our 20-acre campus.
Our ELC children enjoy classrooms designed and resourced for their age and stage of development. Each classroom features Learning Centers where children have the opportunity to learn and develop skills with their peers and teachers in small groups. Learning Centers may include science and discovery, dramatic play, loose parts, sensory toys and games, messy art, large blocks/props area, and more.
Our spacious indoor playscape hosts whole-school gatherings and gives children the space to enjoy active free play whatever the weather.
Outside, the children can play actively in one of our age-appropriate playgrounds equipped with slides, jungle gyms, ride-ons, and more.
They can enjoy quiet time or story time in Margaret’s Garden, and grow, harvest, and taste fresh veggies in our Growing Garden.
Beyond, there is plenty of space to explore and discover in the fields and woods on our 20-acre campus.
Our location at the Springfield JCC means that our ELC children can enjoy all the amenities on our campus.
Their schedule includes active time in the Sensiplay room and gymnasium, as well as weekly swim sessions in our indoor pool (for older children).
