Brooklyn in the '50s: Artwork by Phillip Van Cott
May 11 - June 18, 2026
Artist Phillip Van Cott invites you to reminisce about the '50s and early '60s. Whether you were playing hopscotch on the sidewalk or singing a cappella under an old streetlight, Van Cott’s paintings bring us back to a time of simplicity filled with a contentment seldom found in our now hurried lives. One can almost hear the young girls jumping to the sound of “My Name is Sally” while playing Double Dutch, or the sound that a solidly hit Spalding makes when playing stickball. Look, enjoy, and remember!
Join us for an opening reception with the artist on Sunday, May 24 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
