There are recreational opportunities for youth of all ages at the J! From introductory and intermediate classes to basketball leagues and the JCC Maccabi Games®, there’s many ways for children to stay active and engaged.

In our Lil Sports classes, children play and learn with experienced coaches in a fun and safe environment that inspires creativity, fosters skill acquisition, and encourages the development of each child’s unique personality.

Lil Dribblers Basketball

PreK 3 to 5 years old

This coed class teaches the basics of basketball utilizing bright colored basketballs and low hoops. This motivational environment will help all participants learn and have fun.

Lil Kicks Soccer

PreK 3 to 5 years old

A great introduction to soccer! This program will teach your child the fundamentals of soccer such as dribbling, passing, shooting and scoring!  Your child will come home loving soccer and our skilled coaches!

Super Tot Gym and Swim

PreK 3 to 5 years old

This class serves the best of both worlds. This class consists of 45 minutes of physical education play, followed by swim instruction and play in the pool!

Tiny Tumblers

PreK 3 to 5 years old

Boys and girls complete obstacle courses and learn basic skills that will promote self-confidence, physical strength, and further develop fine motor skill. In addition, short specialized activities promoting happy healthy children may be included during each class.

Youth Basketball

Grades K – 2

Learn the fundamentals of basketball such as dribbling, passing, and shooting while gaining the experience of being part of a team.  This coed class teaches children how to work together and develop their court skills so they are ready for the next level of play.

Kids Karate

PreK 3 to 10 years old

Our Kids Karate class, taught by long time expert, Daniel Krahala will teach students new simple and fun Taekwondo techniques. These foundational skills are designed to introduce core concepts of the martial arts as well as serving as vehicles for teaching focus, self-control, and self-discipline. Our approach involves safe play-based exercises as well as improving balance, flexibility, and coordination through exciting and dynamic kicks! Whether learning proper posture, or delivering powerful punches, students will gain a real sense of confidence from their achievements. In Taekwondo, respect of self and others, and an appreciation for the value of hard work and perseverance, are the processes as well as the products of Taekwondo training.

Archery

Grades 1 – 5

Test your skills, and learn some new ones! We are happy to introduce this beginner level introductory class, where participants will learn the basics of archery. We will teach each child about the equipment, technique, and form. This will be an exciting challenge that your kids’ do not want to miss out on!

Soccer Stars

Grades K – 2

Our age-specific curriculum focuses on technical improvement, tactical decision making and leadership development. Classes are created to guarantee that each player is learning to enhance decision-making, creativity, and confidence on the ball.

JBall is an in-house league for students in grades 9 – 12. Teams are drafted and coached by senior captains. Participants must provide proof of vaccination at the time of registration or they will be asked to wear a mask.

Important Dates:
Draft: Thursday, December 30
Start Date: January 5

Games will be held on Wednesday nights starting at 5:00 PM. Game dates include: January 5, 12, 19, 26; February 2, 9, 16, 23; March 2, 9.

Cost: $110 JCC members, $190 general public
Fee includes, league fees, stats, awards, and a board-certified referee.

The JCC Maccabi Games® is a sports competition set in the context of a week-long Jewish teenage festival, held each summer in North America. It is the single largest annual gathering of Jewish teens outside of Israel and includes participants from all over the U.S., Israel, Canada, and many other countries.
