Group Exercise Class Descriptions

Our weekly Group Exercise classes are fun and innovative and will challenge you to reach new levels in health and wellness.

Cost: Free for JCC members, $15/class general public
Pre-registration is required for our Cycling classes. Click here to register.

Our current offerings include:

Active Adult: Improve quality of life as you age by working to strengthen your body and your heart with a circuit based workout that can be adapted to all levels of fitness.

All Levels Kickboxing: Instructor will demonstrate arms, legs and then kickboxing combinations with your choice of low, medium, or high intensity.  Weights will be used occasionally as an optional strength boost!  Time will be left for mat work too!

Aqua Aerobics: Water aerobics is a great way to tone your muscles, improve flexibility and cardiovascular health. It is a low impact whole body workout.

Better Balance: The average American loses 40% of their muscle by age 70 leading to a loss of balance and an increase in falls.  Balance training will focus on strengthening the major muscles of the body and core to offset age related muscle loss and will include exercises specifically working balance.

Circuit Challenge: Perform different stations each week to test your cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, balance, flexibility, and mental toughness. Are you up for the challenge?

Cycling: Experience a high-intensity cardio class on stationary bikes. Hit the hills, power the sprints, and chase the competition. All levels welcome! (Limit 28)

Peaceful Minds: These gentle yoga sessions will focus solely on relaxation with added emphasis on deep breathing and guided meditation, cultivating calm and serene states of mind and body. We will settle into restorative poses and explore different yogic breathing patterns as hallmarks of relaxation and well-being.

Pilates: Pilates builds a balanced body with an emphasis on core strength, alignment, balance, and flexibility. This class is open to adults and suitable for all levels, but geared towards beginners. Please bring socks.

Restorative Yoga: Yin inspired deep stretch class. This passive flow will consist of a series of longer held seated postures that touch the connective tissues, ligaments, joints, tendons, and bones in the body. Each position will be held for 3-5 minutes and will incorporate both deep breathing and meditative practices. This all-levels class is slower-paced and a perfect way to wind down and relax after a long day in preparation for a deep night’s sleep!

Strength & Sculpt: Body sculpting exercises that are great for all levels. A variety of equipment will be used to keep things fresh.

Yogalates: A blend of Yoga and Pilates that focuses on strength, flexibility, breath, and mindfulness.

Vin/Yin Yoga: A fusion session that will encompass both yang and yin elements. The first half of the class will focus outward, utilizing strong and dynamic flows intended to warm the body. Once the muscles are energized, the second half of the class will allow us to work inward and revitalize the body and mind. This is an all-levels class that will provide a well-rounded flow to incorporate cardio, strength, endurance, balance, restoration, and deep breathing. You will leave feeling energized and focused!

VXN: is a dance fitness brand focused on improving the physical and mental wellness of women. In class, we incorporate commercial choreography, music remixes, and stage lighting so you can experience yourself as a performer. Our mission is to give a new edge to fitness by merging dance, music, and fashion, while providing an environment where you can experience an emotional release, mind-body connection, and a sense of community. We encourage every participant to come to class wearing their hair down, favorite lipstick, and workout gear to help you feel your most confident!

Zumba: Ditch the workout, join the party! Zumba is a fusion of Latin and International music – dance themes that create an exciting, dynamic, and effective fitness system. No dance experience necessary!
